That Bit In Life

"Have It Your way" --> a couple of month ago, this totally struck me. I had this whole-day 'date' as we'd call it with a person I haven't really had any idea would take me out.
So we spent the day together, just walking around, talking, we had a sit-down coffee before lunch and had managed to talk about what happened in the past five years that we haven't seen each other. Ofcourse there was that bit and tendency of 'not talking' about the whole painful stuff that caused a lot of tears and all. We simply talked about casual stuff or perhaps some deeper things, but not thorough that we went to the part of allowing pain to resume once more. Then we had a simple burger lunch at his expense. we were just chatting, having a good laugh even though he already noticed that i was tired and my eyes were already weary.

We were talking about some random stuff and laughing about it when (i don't remember what i did say though) I commented something and he laughed out loud and pointed at the foil of our burger that said, "Have It Your Way". I was totally kicked out of my chair in laughter and realized the reality of it.

Today, when I remember this even, I could really tell that life, is filled with surprises. That experience was something I didn't really think would happen in a million years. But it did and it did teach me something.


Life - Have it your way. There might be consequences, tears, pain, laughter, good and bad memories and decisions that would lead you to unsure circumstances and consequences. But whatever you make out of it, it is life. No halting it or putting it on rewind. It's life, your life. Live it. Love it. Have it your way.

Challenge - Day Three

Day 3: Your Day in Great Detail

Right, so I’ll try to make this as detailed as possible. I wish I’ve done justice to it. I have so many things to say, but well, they’re all just mixing in my head right now. I’ve posted this last night, but I didn’t notice that it was on the draft (stupid me, haha!) So yeah.. here goes..
- 5.15AM We were still at Zambales yesterday at the village of Botolan and everyone woke up pretty early. Today was our departure (later that afternoon). They started making breakfast around 4am so my waking up around 5am was pretty much late. Haha! Yes, at that point I already woke up late.
- 7.25am the breakfast was served and it was just goood!! large and thick bacons (the kind that looked puffed by vitamins), some good sinangag rice, scrambled eggs, province-style dish of adobo (which was quite good, i tell you) and some early coffee. Breakfast was filled with stories too - wonderful day with friends Teng Palermo, Vanie Calobong and Tusa Montes. =) A lot of picture taking by this time already!
- 8.45am we pretty much started packing to go to the next village where we’d be doing our thing and take a bath (i learned ‘na magigib ng tubig’ since there weren’t any faucet around at all)
~ 9.45am we arrived at the 2nd destination and we settled down for a while and started to have the meeting on what stuff we’d do at the workshop that day.
~ 10.35am the workshop started and I was pretty much nervous. I was 2nd on teaching them and it was like uuuuuugh I’m nervous kind of feeling. But it turned out well. I had fun.
~ 12.20pm lunch was served. We had ground beef with veggies and raisins for lunch and we were so happy for the people’s hospitality. The Chieftain himself made their version of ensalada – fresh chopped onions, tomatoes, salt and pepper, sliced mangoes all soiled in sugar, water and vinegar. But what made the lunch good was the fern in it or a plant they called ‘paku’ it was fantastic! Can’t wait to be back on September.
~1.45pm we resumed the workshop for some light talk with the kids.
~3.20pm we wrapped up the workshop. Returned to our bahay kubo and started on some snacks and coffee while we packed our stuff.
~4.30pm We left Botolan, Zambales. The people are amazing. I learned a lot and their hospitality is just superb! Thank you!
~5.15pm on the road, sleeping and listening to music and waking up every now and then. Haha!
~6.37pm we arrived at Duty Free! Yay, some shopping first before we go for dinner!!
~9.36pm We reached Bulacan and had good dinner at Max’s restaurant. We weren’t really hungry, but we had to eat something because we were all reaaaaally exhausted already.
11.15pm we reached UST, finally! The whole weekend was exhausting but it was a great trip. We learned a lot. And we rode a cab and off we went home.
11.45pm I finally reached home. Yay! And I learned that my brother and I won the bet against mum and dad. So we have great bucks each, so double yaaaay!!!!

Sorry, it took a while to post this. =) Long story, hah! but heck, here it is.
Day Two THE 10 LIKES AND 10 DISLIKES
10 Likes:
~ Books – lots and lots of them, all genres and kinds! I really like reading, it feeds the mind perfectly well. I also like books which are already pretty old – the stuff you kinda buy at book sales. Somethings interesting with old smelling books and all.
~ Coffee Dates or Random dinner dates- I love coffee dates with highschool and some college friends!!! I like the idea of having coffee, meeting up over business or friendly talks with random people everyday. The idea is quite relaxing for me.
~Drinking Sessions – haha, I think any college student or musician (in particular) loooves the after a gig we go straight to party or bars to drink kind of thing. It’s just a way to unwind for me with some friends after a long hectic week!
~ Shopping – might it be clothes or shoes or bags or other random stuff I’d find lovely and cute, I’d grab it. =)
~ Random Cd Compilation – I have this thing for listening and loving music whose artist are usually not that known or has already passed their time. When I was in highschool I just accidentally downloaded a song that I pretty much looooved eventually and for which only in my college years had I discovered that the dude (I’ve downloaded his whole albums) already died years ago but he is EXTREMELY talented. To the memory of this artist, Elliot Smith. I love him.
~ Notebooks – I also like writing longhand anywhere I am. Ideas just creep through and through for me so wherever I go, whenever I just have a notebook in my bag. And whenever I find some cute small notebook I’d get it, even though I already have dozens of other kinds. Hahaha! Yeah, I like collecting them too and not really using them. Waste of money..uugh. but I can’t help it.
~ Travelling– I absolutely adore travelling. Whether with friends or family, I’d go for it. As long as I have enough nullahs to last me even just for a few days, I’d go no matter where it is. I’m a cowgirl in a way because I could do away with couple of food only (as long as I have water around) and just go for adventure and learning stuff from different people and from different places. I just hate bed bugs and those hard pillow in inns we sometimes stay in. HAHA! I’m hoping to go to Baguio, Boracay and Thailand later this year! Yay!
~ Photos – I like taking photos of a lot of people, places and objects I’d find nice and cute or something to blog about. I really like the idea of sharing how I see things through in this world. And yes, I love printing them and posting them on walls of my room or scrapbooks.
~ Blogging – definitely writing. I like the idea of streaming your thoughts away, especially after a very long day or tiring week. It soothes me a lot.
~ Arts – all the forms. A big reason why I took music course in college. =)
Dislikes:
~Bitches and Bastards. I hate liars and articifial people. Who go along with what my riends and I call ‘user-friendly’. Those types who hang out with you because they NEED or WANT something from you and afterwards – they’re gone. I just hate people who pretend that they are this and that or that they scream to the world how intelligent they are but actually, when you look deep down, their hearts are empty. Fill in your hearts, people. It’s better to be a better person than an intellectual one with a hollow heart. At the end of the day, what would matter would be what kind of person you’ve been.
~ Social Climbers. Don’t you just hate them?
~ INSENSITIVE PEOPLE AND People who lack manners - those who show up or arrive or tag along to places, drinking nights or parties especially if they’re unwanted or uninvited. I MEAN REALLY. total assholes. I don’t show up to parties or just tag along to a friend who got invited to drinking nights because that’s just not right. so I really haaaate people who have the face to invite themselves in and just be pretty cool about the whole idea. So rude.
~ lizards! I just hate them. I have a phobia on them. I would rather hold snakes for an hour than a glimpse of them for a minute.
~when your shoes gets ruined and you still have a long day ahead of you and you have no idea how you’d deal with it.
~too much heat. They just give me rashes and I haaaate it.
~ spending money on stuff that I’m forced to buy on spend on
~ people who keep going ‘palibre naman oh!’ really. I was never really like that since highschool up to now. I mean really. If you wanna go on dinner dates, movies or parties, why don’t you use your own money? You shouldn’t go to such events if your nullahs are short and then you’d ask other people to pay for you. Just rude. Rude, I tell you.
~ i haate the lights that go through the morning on my window. it wakes me

Day One

Something to do for 30Days.. =)


Day One: OKay, so this is my attempt on DAY ONE:
So hello, I’m Kim Villaflores and I am an incoming 4th year student at the University of Sto Tomas this June under Conservatory of Music - piano major and violin minor. I’m hoping to survive the next school year for the things I know are needed to be accomplished by then. I’ve started teaching piano and violin way three years back but got a regular job basis only this Summer because I just wanted to do a couple of playing here and there - gigs I tell you - rather than be a classroom teacher - but I am thoroughly enjoying being a teacher, to be honest. =)
I like reading books - all genres, per se and I could spend the whole Summer just reading them in cafes that I love staying in for long hours. I also love writing short stories (i have boxes of longhand-written journals and stories that I’ve done since I was 15). I love music of all kinds and genres. And yeah, when I was 8 (during the time I also started playing the piano) my uncle (who is a painter) taught me how to draw and I when i practice a lot - I draw a lot on my free time!! yay! (which actually barely happens since college life began..ugghhh..)
My favourite composer is Frederic Chopin, my favourite of today’s artists are Josh Groban, Lucia Micarelli, Mandy Moore, The Calling, Maroon 5 and Rascal Flatts.
I love going to local cafes and having those long hours of coffee talks with old friends, highschool friends and some college friends. I like spending Me-Time there from time to time to stay away from all the craziness of life today and just reflect on all the things that has happened. I love shopping and drinking-night parties with highschool friends (it never grows old) and staying in our favourite tambayan. That part of my Senior Year I would always just love.
Oh and yeah I like random things like cold milkteas, my violin, some cd mixes and collection from a violinist friend, random get-together with friendsand i really miss those workshop days, school fun and random drinking after school, I like watching old movies too (like the Robin Hood type of movies and Dungeons and Dragons), spending Summer days at home and watching Gossip Girl Marathon and those pool parties-days in sports club with friends. Yeah! Hahaha. Oh yeah, shoes and bags. I like them a lot.
I like and love a lot of things and people. There’s just too much things to do and too many people to have coffee with, but so little time!

Shinning, Shimmering, Splendid

You have to forgive my vanity and my boast today. Yay! I finally got my new phone! I'm so happy and proud because this is the first time - ever - that I have bought my own phone. =) So proud of myself that I didn't have to ask my mom for help getting it and I've always wanted this phone - now I have it because of my own hardwork. And ofcourse, first photo taken from it was with my brother who was more than excited than I was at the prospect of a new mobile. =)
